Pittsburgh Steelers Joe Greene Jersey Retirement: Where to Watch

The Pittsburgh Steelers will officially retire the No. 75 jersey for Joe Greene this evening prior to kick off against the Baltimore Ravens. They’ve announced that the ceremony can be viewed in its entirety on steelers.com

The pregame ceremony is set to begin at 5:30 pm EST so you can view the ceremony online before the game. This won’t be able to be shown on Sunday Night Football’s Football Night in America as it will begin during the late afternoon games. If you don’t want to miss this ceremony, keep yourself logged into steelers.com!

The retirement ceremony comes 50 years since the last and only jersey has been retired for the Steelers; Ernie Stautner’s No. 70 was retired back in 1964. Joe Greene was the first draft choice of the late Steelers head coach Chuck Noll and without a doubt changed the face, culture, and history of a franchise that had only known losing beforehand. Joe Greene was the unquestionable leader of the Steel Curtain defense for 13 seasons, a Hall of Fame defensive tackle, a two-time NFL DPOY, and vital piece of the Steelers dynasty that led to four Super Bowl Championships in the 1970s.

The Steelers will also have a ceremony at halftime to honor Joe Greene.
