Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer, fresh off of his three-year, $50 million extension signed this week was carted off to the locker room with a knee injury in the fourth quarter of the Cardinals 31-14 victory over the St. Louis Rams. Drew Stanton took over for the second time this season for the injured Palmer and was able to secure the victory thanks to some Rams turnovers late in the game. The last time Palmer suffered a disastrous knee injury, as Bengals fans might remember, was after he signed at the time the biggest contract for a quarterback in history, and had the unfortunate fate to be rolled up on by one Kimo Von Oelhoffen. The Cardinals now hold a commanding lead in the NFC West with the 8-1 record but might not have that clear of a future under Drew Stanton.
