It’s a bust!

The DEA decided to make surprise inspections of select NFL teams on Sunday afternoon. They there targeting the medical and training staffs of visiting NFL teams, trying to apparently catch them in the act of violating federal drug laws regarding prescription painkillers. Earlier this year a federal lawsuit was filed by several former NFL players, alleging that team physicians and trainers basically handed out painkillers like candy in an attempt to mask their injuries and keep them on the field longer. None of the inspections garnered any kind of actions or arrests and all of the teams were able to go on their merry way when all was said and done. That’s just what the NFL needs, impromptu drug inspections on a regular basis. I’m sure that’s always going to turn out just fine and dandy.
