Steelers’ Fantasy Stars Before the Bye

This season has been up and down for the Steelers. They were lucky to get a win in Nashville and head into the bye in a good position. Here is a look at the Steelers’ fantasy stars so far.

Not only is Antonio Brown the best offensive weapon on the Steelers’ offense, he is one of the best offensive weapons in the game. Brown is a precise route runner, excellent pass catcher, and hard worker. His game has no weaknesses.

Brown consistently comes down with balls that receivers of greater stature would struggle with. His somewhat diminutive size has never been an issue with jump balls, red zone targets, or moving the chains. AFC North teams will struggle with the elusive receiver for years to come–the record setting wideout is only twenty-six.

Another player those teams will have to contend with is Le’Veon Bell. Coming off of a career game, the running back is proving to be one of the more versatile backs to come out of the draft the last few years. He is committed to a stringent conditioning program, and will do what is necessary to help the team win.

With the departure of LeGarrette Blount, Bell’s role should only increase. He will continue to accrue yards by rushing and receiving, and increased opportunities will hopefully lead to more scores.

Ben Roethlisberger has been the gem of the league at times this year. He has all of the tools a championship quarterback should have. He needs to be more consistent, but so do the players around him. Roethlisberger’s intelligence and increasing knowledge of the game should keep his career going for a while.

Martavis Bryant burst onto the scene midseason and has a bright future with the team. His production saw a steep drop last week against the Titans, but he had a few opportunities to make plays in the end zone–as he grows as a player, he needs to make those plays.

The Steelers have a core of elite players in reality and in fantasy. Continued improvement from a young offensive line and more exposure to an evolving offense should lead to league-leading numbers for this group.

A tough stretch remains in the 2014 season. The Steelers are well placed to have a strong finish, but they must play consistently. Hopefully the bye provides a chance to refocus.
