The NFL is going to put on another fancy-shmancy award ceremony the night before the Super Bowl to announce the league’s MVP, DPOY, OPOY, etc. One award which actually promotes and celebrates players who do positive things off of the field is the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Sunday evening the NFL revealed the three finalists will be 49ers WR Anquan Boldin, Panthers LB Thomas Davis, and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers. It’s a shame the Steelers’ William Gay didn’t make it to the finalist round. He does amazing work in the city of Pittsburgh and around the country for women’s shelters and anti-domestic violence programs.
