We’ve just had our first Sunday without football since September and our first Sunday without football till this September. It’s going to be a long road, but we’ll get there together. Good thing for us the NFL doesn’t wait for games to be played for there to be news. Surely some scandal of one thing or another will pop up or resurface in time to consume us before the draft, right?
You can’t do that on television
The NBC cameras got the shot away in time for America and the rest of the world to enjoy Seattle Seahawk wide receiver Doug Baldwin’s “poopdown” touchdown celebration but even though the moment wasn’t caught on camera the NFL still fined Baldwin $11,025.
Good to know that’s the going rate for pretending to crap a football in the endzone. Baldwin and the Seahawks were penalized 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct during the game but apparently that wasn’t enough. Baldwin doesn’t regret his move, telling The Daily Herald that it was just a spontaneous celebration.
"“I was just out there having fun playing the game of football. There’s no explanation. You play this game for so long, you go out there and you have fun. I can get criticized for it, that’s fine, everybody has their opinion, but in the moment I was just having fun. My teammates know that.” – Doug Baldwin"
