Dez to get tagged

The Dallas Cowboys have been unable to come to agreement in contract negotiations with their top wide receiver, Dez Bryant, and to keep him on the roster for 2015 the team is expected to slap Bryant with the franchise tag by the deadline on Monday afternoon. The going rate for the compensation for a franchise tagged wide receiver in 2015 is projected to be $12.8 million, which is nice, but isn’t necessarily an ideal situation for neither Bryant nor the Cowboys.

The Cowboys are likely to let rushing yards leader DeMarco Murray hit free agency and might not have him back for 2015, which is when the rumors of Adrian Peterson to Dallas will really heat up. If Murray signs with another team I’d expect the Cowboys to move heaven and earth to snag Peterson if the Vikings have released him. Otherwise without Murray or Peterson, the Cowboys offense sure looks to be awful one dimensional in 2015.
