Woodley cut again

Thirty-year hold LaMarr Woodley is experiencing yet again the downfalls of being cut in the NFL. This time it’s a little bit sadder, though. Woodley is set to be cut by the Oakland Raiders after only one year of play.

Woodley signed a two-year, $12 million contract with the Raiders last March while they were in their “Let’s sign all the old, ineffective guys no one else wants” mode of free agency. Shockingly that plan backfired and they have to go in a different direction this year. Woodley played meh football, even for Oakland, and was placed on IR for the final 10 games of the season with a biceps injury.

The Steelers released Woodley last March after he didn’t live up to his jumbo contract and had several seasons marred by injury and little production. They released him in favor of Jason Worilds, who they now might lose to free agency, signifying how the outside linebacker position for the Steelers has fluctuated the last few years.
