The inevitable departure of Troy Polamalu from the Pittsburgh Steelers has most of Steeler Nation feeling sentimental. It’s tough to think of the possibility of Polamalu playing in a different uniform to the point where he can be considered of one of the greatest Steelers of all-time.

Of course, with a history like the Pittsburgh Steelers franchise has compiling a best of all-time list is lengthy work. When you think of the best defensive backs in Steelers history, Troy Polamalu might not make the top of the list with names like Mel Blount and Rod Woodson.
