Who won and who lost?

Bearing in mind that championships aren’t actually won this time of the year there is a chance for winners and losers in the whole free agency routine. Greg Rosenthal of Around the NFL describes who he thinks are his winners and the Indianapolis Colts top the list. The Colts have acquired Frank Gore, Andre Johnson and Trent Cole so far in free agency. It will be interesting to see if their plan of grabbing veterans instead of younger guys will work out for them.

Another big winner in free agency in the NFL so far has been mid-level cornerbacks. No one is getting paid more than average cornerbacks this year. For crying out loud the New York Jets are going to pay Antonio Cromartie $8 million a year to play opposite Darrelle Revis and revive the 2011 Jets defensive backfield. That’s not going to backfire at all.
