There goes my career

The NFL held the first annual veteran combine this weekend in Arizona. Players from Felix Jones to Brady Quinn participated in drills to showcase their skills in the hopes of being signed by an NFL team. Free agent running back Michael Bush had a rough response to learning his 40-yard dash time was incredibly pedestrian.

"“You gotta be (expletive) me…4.91?…There you go, there goes my career.” – Michael Bush"

Brady Quinn said he hopes to enjoy a Josh McCown-like renaissance on the field. For real. If that’s what he’s aspiring to be, his career is pretty much done already. Perhaps these guys should have realized that paying at least $400 to the privilege to participate in drills which no team is actually going to take seriously if their game film shows anything different was the signal of the end of their careers.
