The NFL Owners didn’t vote to change the extra point during their least meetings, but they’re likely to change them before the season kicks off anyway. The point is to take the play from a boring, automatic kick to an actual football play. The new rule proposals could include turning it into a live ball, allowing the defense to score at least two points by blocking a kick or returning a fumbled or intercepted two-point conversion attempt.

The change could also permanently push back the extra point to the 15-yard like, making it a 32-yard kick and putting the two-point conversion closer to the goal line to entice coaches to try for two more often.
