What We Learned This Week in the NFL Offseason:

  • Manziel “lost trust” in Cleveland; and games
  • NFL hires female official for good publicity
  • Adrian Peterson to meet with NFL
  • Aaron Hernandez is probably a murderer
  • Predicting playoff teams
  • Best undrafted free agents of Pittsburgh

Teams with new coaches can open their offseason workouts today. That includes the Falcons, Bills, Jets, 49ers, Broncos and Bears. Atlanta, Buffalo and the Jets are all opening today while San Francisco will begin tomorrow. Denver and Chicago are waiting till next Monday to start their offseason workouts. Football in shorts will lead to football for real. It’s right around the corner!

Manziel will have to earn trust

While Johnny Football recovers in his voluntary rehab treatment his teammates want him to prove that they can trust him again. Browns offensive tackle told ESPNCleveland.com that Manziel lost trust amongst his teammates by the way he handled himself once he became a starter. Imagine that. The player who everyone saw partying nonstop as a college student and first-round draft pick kept on partying once he became a starting NFL quarterback.

"“I think he’s going to have to prove to the team that football is important and being ‘the man,’ being the starting quarterback for the Cleveland Browns, is important, it is his goal, his single goal in his life.” – Joe Thomas"

What a crappy goal. That’s enough to make anyone check themselves into rehab. To have their ultimate goal in life to be the quarterback for the Cleveland Browns? By history alone is just means that your goal last roughly 1 ½ seasons at the most and you’ll lose way more games than you’ll ever win. Good luck with your goal, Johnny.
