Auburn fans were reportedly shocked that Dismukes was not drafted, suggesting the Steelers may have found a steal here.

Dismukes pre-draft write-up on NFL.com also lists the intangibles that seem to please the Steelers coaching staff. He’s a leader in the locker room and was selected as team captain.  I’m sensing a trend here, maybe?

Notably, he’s the 2014 Most Outstanding Center, but he is listed as a Guard in the Steelers list of the 12 rookie free agents on the website.

His strengths include good quickness and good awareness of pass protection.  One of his weaknesses was that he tends to lose leverage when blocking heads-up.

Keeping the quarterback upright or opening the hole for the running back is critical, but I wonder: can his weaknesses be that bad if he got selected for the award?

Isn’t time for training camp yet?  I want to see how this goes!
