Who should the NFL MVP trophy be named after? That’s the question Dave Dameshek asked a handful of NFL players. The AFC, NFC and Super Bowl trophies are all named after someone but currently the NFL MVP trophy has no namesake.
Dameshek posed the question of who of all-time the trophy should be named for and some of the responses ranged from Jim Brown to Reggie White. Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown thought that Walter Payton would be a good choice for the award.
Peyton Manning was won the NFL MVP award an NFL record five times, making him the obvious candidate for the name of the award. When it comes down to it, which one is better at just the regular season than Manning anyway? There hasn’t been a quarterback in the game that has had the regular season success Manning has with the lack of championships to show for it. At least give him the award to be named for him.
