What We Learned This Week in the NFL Offseason:

  • Favre goes back to Green Bay
  • Brady fired up
  • Dez and Demaryius get paid
  • Big names remain available
  • Five things to look for in Steelers training camp

We are less than a week away from the best sight of summer. The freshly cut grass of Saint Vincent College, the line of fans waiting for the players to come out of the dorms down the hill, the competition of positions and offense vs. defense. It’s almost here.

Favre’s return to Lambeau

Brett Favre had a messy breakup with the Green Bay Packers. As a member of the Minnesota Vikings, Favre got thousands of Packers fans to fill Lambeau field for a chance to boo him as a member of their division rival. Saturday night the stadium was filled with 67,000 fans to honor Favre as he was inducted into the franchise’s Hall of Fame and retire his number 4.

"“Playing at Lambeau Field, certainly coming out of that tunnel, there’s nothing like it on this earth. I’ll say this, I’ve also run out of the visitor’s tunnel and that was scary. I’d much rather go through that tunnel right there.” – Brett Favre"

Favre got a five-minute standing ovation from the crowd at Lambeau for the ceremony. The team will also honor Favre with a celebration at halftime of their Thanksgiving Day game against the Bears. Most likely they’ll be heading to Canton next summer as Favre will be eligible for induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the Class of 2016.
