Hold outs no more

Demaryius Thomas and Dez Bryant were on the verge of being training camp hold outs for their respective teams. Just in the nick of time both the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys came through with a pair of $70 million contracts for their respective wide receivers.

Are Thomas and Bryant worth $140 million? These are the kind of deals that need to get done for teams with quarterbacks with closing windows on their careers. It’s the same logic for why the Dolphins paid Ryan Tannehill almost $100 million earlier this summer. You don’t get big contracts for being great anymore; you get them if you’re not horrible and because everyone else is getting them.
