There are some big NFL names still without a team to report to this weekend when training camps open. Names like Michael Vick, Chris Johnson, Ahmad Bradshaw, Ben Tate, Santonio Holmes, Reggie Wayne and Wes Welker are all still available to fill a roster spot.

Those guys commanded big salaries just a few years ago but have now come to the realization that just about everybody is replaceable in the NFL. It’s a young man’s game and when you’re on the wrong side of 30 like all of these guys are you have to face the reality that your time might be over.

Defensive players like Osi Umenyiora and Dwight Freeney also still remain available. Unwilling to retire but unable to garner enough interest from teams to be signed prior to camps opening. If someone gets injured or a draftee doesn’t work out these guys will be standing by their phones.
