With the start of training camp comes the start of the physically unable to perform list. The first players listed were center Maurkice Pouncey, OL Mike Adams, quarterback Bruce Gradkowski, cornerback Senquez Golson, and linebacker Shawn Lemon. Of those players Lemon was eventually waived but Pouncey and Gradkowski have made their way back to active participation.
Rookie cornerback and second-round draft pick Senquez Golson just recently had shoulder surgery but the team has not determined whether he is done for the season or not. The Steelers could have the possibility of placing Golson on the injured reserve/designated for return list, depending on the direction from the medical staff.
The team placed linebacker Jarvis Jones on the injured reserve/designated for return list last season after suffering a wrist injury in their Week 3 win over the Carolina Panthers. It was revealed when the PUP list first came out that Mike Adams had a back procedure done that has kept him sidelined for the entire camp.
The 2012 second-round draft pick has had a very inconsistent career thus far with the Steelers and he could be missing his chance at redemption by being sidelined with this back injury.
