What we learned in week 2 of the NFL preseason:

  • Shocking revelations in Eagles vs Ravens
  • Eli asking for too much?
  • RGIII injured in record time
  • Preseason claims more injury victims
  • Steelers defense applied pressure in win

For Steelers fans, we’re starting to feel just how excruciatingly long this year’s preseason is with that added week and game. While I love to watch the games for the competition and to see the young guys prove themselves I can’t help but be bored to tears at this point in the preseason and I’m more than ready to have the regular season kick off already.

Of course, when you have to take injuries into consideration when it comes to wanting to speed up time for the regular season, you have to hope that the injuries can heal at the rapid pace as well. Injuries are an inevitable part of the game and an annoyingly inevitable part of these exhibition games.

Over the next couple of weeks the preseasons games will be even less competitive because the starters will play little to no time but the drama will definitely increase as the teams will have to cut down from 90 players to 53 by Sept. 4th. Then there is the time for players to go on waivers and for teams to build their practice squads.
