Tomorrow night our long national nightmare will finally end as the 2015 NFL season kicks off. The Pittsburgh Steelers will be visiting Gilette Stadium to face the reigning Super Bowl champions, the New England Patriots.
Ordinarily I wouldn’t have a dog in this fight, but there are several very compelling reasons why I (and you, and all decent Americans) should be rooting for Pittsburgh to take down the Pats. Here are three of the best.
1. A winning tradition
Thanks to the stunning growth of fantasy football, new fans are coming to the NFL every year.

The Steelers have had as much success as any team over the years. Pittsburgh has won six Super Bowl titles, which is more than any other team. They have also played in eight, which ties the Patriots and the Dallas Cowboys for the most appearances.
If you’re new to the game and looking for a team to call home, you can certainly do worse than the Steelers.
