What we learned in week 1 of the NFL regular season:
- Miami’s hilarious fumble
- McCown goes helicopter, Manziel goes Manziel
- Seattle runs it and still loses
- Mariota and Winston have opposite career starts
- Pacman Jones is a piece of crap
- Flacco and Manning both struggle against pass rush
- Steelers clear tight ends coach in altercation
Ah. Smell that? That’s the smell of football season. It’s back. We had a full day of action on Sunday and a full slate of games to discuss. There’s nothing quite like the first Sunday of football. There’s so much optimism and pessimism flowing around at the same time it’s fantastic.
If your team won you’re ready to print your own Super Bowl Champion t-shirts. If your team loses, you’re ready to fire the coach and trade everyone for draft picks. The first Sunday of the season is the first time to see your team’s draft pick in action or the new coaching staff making game-time decisions.
I don’t know about you but sitting in my recliner with my Steelers snuggie on and the NFL Red Zone channel playing on a cool September Sunday is just about perfection. Except for when I have to use the bathroom and realize there’s no commercial breaks and I have to just suck it up and miss something.
The struggle is real. Here we go to the games.
Next: Best. Fumble. Ever.
