Football is back and so is overreacting and scorching hot takes. Along with those are our almost perfect predictions of who will win the games each week of the NFL schedule.
Here at Still Curtain we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Steelers tirelessly but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just our pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game on the schedule.
We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.
The NFL week 2 schedule opens up with an AFC West divisional matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs are hoping that their opening win over the Texans was a sign of the offensive power-house they hope to be this season. The Broncos are hoping that Peyton Manning’s arm isn’t, indeed, a wet noodle.
The Steelers make their Heinz Field debut on Sunday afternoon against the San Francisco 49ers and against first-time NFL head coach Jim Tomsula, a Pittsburgh native. The 49ers won their Monday Night Football matchup against the Vikings, holding Adrian Peterson to only 31 yards and the offense to 3 points. The Steelers have their work cut out for them hoping to reverse their red zone woes against a 49ers defense.
Elsewhere on the schedule the Browns will take on Marcus Mariota and the Titans and hope they can contain him better than the Buccaneers did last week. The Ravens will travel to the Black Hole to face the Raiders to finish out their west-coast road trip and Cincinnati will host the Chargers.
Dom was your winner for the first week of the Still Curtain weekly picks tournament. He narrowly beat out Jesse, who was the only one to correctly pick both Monday Night Football winners. Time for them to go down.
Feel free to join us in making picks of your own in the comments section, or take the opportunity to heckle and criticize our picks if that’s your deal. Make picks of your own or you can root for your favorite Still Curtain staffer!
