Your Pittsburgh Steelers make their 2015 regular season Heinz Field debut against the San Francisco 49ers for some cross-conference action. The Steelers are looking for their first win of the season while the 49ers came out of the gates swinging with a Monday Night Football victory over the Vikings.
The Steelers are still without Le’Veon Bell and Martavis Bryant, still serving suspensions for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy but Steelers fans can still count on Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown and are now excited to see what DeAngelo Williams can do for the offense.
The Steelers will look to correct the mistakes that held them out of the end zone so many times last Thursday night against the Patriots while the defense tries to come together and put a balanced attack out against the 49ers.
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin spoke about going up against a first-time NFL head coach in Jim Tomsula in his weekly press conference. He described how small the NFL world is in terms of coaches and their influences that they take from one team to the next.
"“Certainly, but this is a small league in that vein. We are familiar with Coach Mangini, although he’s new to his position. We have competed against him in a variety of ways. Chris Forester, their offensive line coach, has been around. We have competed against him. I think his impact or influence is reflected in their run game. So there is familiarity there. I just think that’s the nature of today’s NFL.” – Mike Tomlin"
