Still Curtain Week 3 NFL Picks

facebooktwitterreddit

Last week was the first time the Raiders, Redskins, Browns, Buccaneers and Jaguars all won on the same day in the NFL. In forever. And it will probably be the last time that will happen so savor the flavor, fans.

The season isn’t unfolding quite as expected for some teams while others are enjoying early success you just know they’ll manage to screw up at some point. Football is great.

Here at Still Curtain we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Steelers tirelessly but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just our pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game on the schedule.

We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.

The NFL’s third week of action begins with some NFC East action between Washington and the New York Giants. Eli Manning and the Giants are still trying to win their first game of the season and how timeouts and clocks work. I’m sure he’ll figure it out sooner or later.

The New Orleans Saints will battle the Carolina Panthers in an NFC South matchup where the Panthers look to be a team capable of winning the division again with most likely a losing record. So that’s worth keeping track of. Kam Chancellor has returned to the 0-2 Seahawks as they host the Chicago Bears led by Jimmy Clausen. How did he ever come to the conclusion of picking this week to return, I wonder?

Your Pittsburgh Steelers will travel to St. Louis to take on the Rams in a game that’s being billed as a rematch of Super Bowl XIV. Of course, that Super Bowl featured the Los Angeles Rams and the Steelers would win that game 31-19 to cap off their fourth Super Bowl victory in six years between 1974-1980.

The Steelers welcome back Le’Veon Bell from serving his two-game suspension just while their offense seems to be on fire. The Steelers offensive line has the unenvious job of keeping Aaron Donald and Nick Fairley away from Ben Roethlisberger all day. And the Steelers defense looks to build on last week’s impressive showing against the 49ers.

Week 2 was a tie between Tim and Justin with eight winners each and Dom is still in the overall lead with 19 winners.
