This Phil is on fire

Teresa Varley got some Steelers players to give their opinions on Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. Linebacker Jarvis Jones comments on Rivers’ experience and command on the field.

"“He is a complete quarterback. He knows the game. He is the field general of the team. He gets guys in the right place to make plays. He is a great football player. Guys who have played against him have said he is all about the fire. He talks, brings the energy and he plays the game with a lot of emotion.” – Jarvis Jones"

He also wears bolo ties. So, there’s that.

Kicking is mental

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler got with new Steelers kicker Chris Boswell about his background and how he feels about stepping in as the fourth kicker on the Steelers roster since training camp. The league, not just the Steelers, have experienced some kicking issues so far this season, with 14 missed kicks just last week.

Boswell told Fowler that he worked out with Giants kicker Josh Brown and Chiefs kicker Cairo Santos this offseason and they gave him tips on how to not be Josh Scobee, hopefully.

"“How to go after every kick. Each kick stands on its own. You have to have that down before you kick the ball.” – Chris Boswell"

Hall of Famer

Troy Polamalu is headed to the Hall of Fame, every Steelers fan knows that already. But before he’s enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio he’s going to be enshrined in the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame as the class of 2016.

Next: The return of Ryan Shazier
