Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier is getting the “injury-prone” label pretty heavy. After missing a lot of his rookie season with injury he’ll be on the sidelines for a third consecutive week this season with a shoulder injury according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

Shazier balled out in the Week 2 win over the San Francisco 49ers with a 15-tackle, one-sack performance, but hasn’t been on the field since. He was a participant in practice this season but till tell reporters it would be up to head coach Mike Tomlin whether or not he’d be available to play on Monday night.

Unlikely

The Steelers welcomed back wide receiver Martavis Bryant to practice this week from suspension, but don’t look for Michael Vick to connect with him on another deep ball like they did in the preseason. Bryant injured his knee in practice this week and is unlikely to play on Monday night.

The Steelers have a roster move to make by 4:00 pm EST on Monday to make room for Bryant on the 53-man roster.

Everybody loves MNF

The Steelers’ Teresa Varley got several players to explain what gets them so excited about playing in a Monday Night Football game. Steelers safety Mike Mitchell explains why playing in a Monday Night Football game is a high point for many players.

"“That is the pinnacle. Besides playoffs and Super Bowl games, that is the biggest it gets. You are the only game that day. Anyone that remotely likes football is watching. It’s a game as a kid you always wanted to play in. I think that is why everyone gets so excited.” – Mike Mitchell"
