Steelers vs. Bengals fantasy outlook
By Remy Retro
This is the biggest game of the year so far in the AFC North. The Bengals are undefeated and Big Ben Roethlisberger is coming back after over a month of stewing on the sidelines. He got hurt suddenly in week 3 at St. Louis and the team has battled to go .500 without him.
This is a game where fantasy players are already counting their cards. With Ben back and the Bengals being one of the best offenses in the NFL we are in for a 35-32 kind of game, right? I don’t really think so. For the Steelers to win this game they will have to make splash plays on offense and on defense diminishing fantasy standouts.
You still have to play your guys that are working for you. The Bengals have plenty of fantasy standouts while the Steelers skill players are harder to figure out. If Cincinnati scores first and scores a lot their guys could get you plenty of points. Giovani Bernard is not listed below but I would play him. In fact I would include him as one of the Bengals receivers below.
MUSTS: The Bengals Receivers, Tyler Eifert, Le’Veon Bell
The undefeated team is favored and if they want to display their dominance early, they will pass. The Steelers have to play sound D, force them back to running and bring pressure on Dalton. If they can do that then they could win this game.
Even if they do that you are starting A.J. Green, Marvin Jones and Tyler Eifert because the reality is Pittsburgh gives up tons of points to skill positions. Steeler D has to make the difference here with splash plays and big stops. Tomlin and Todd Haley made mistakes here last week by not having the offense go through Bell, will they do that again?
MIGHTS: Andy Dalton, Martavis Bryant, Steelers DST
You are starting Dalton unless you have like a Brady, or Rogers. Dalton has been great this year and this Steeler defense is not really shutting anyone down. What you hope for is that they do, and this is why I say the Steeler defense is a good gamble. If they are determined to win this game they have to sack Dalton, intercept Dalton and change the flow of the game.
MISSES: Ben Roethlisberger
Ben is simply not good after returning from injury. The offense should flow through Le’Veon Bell, that is what the team needs to get the upset.
