Still Curtain NFL Week 8 Picks
By Kim Myers
Each week in the NFL regular season is its own entity with different storylines and plot twists. Last minute wins, surprise blowouts, blown ref calls; each week brings something new or a buffet of entertainment.
Here at Still Curtain we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Steelers tirelessly but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just our pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game on the schedule each week.
We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.
The NFL schedule begins Week 8 with an AFC East showdown between the surging Miami Dolphins and undefeated New England Patriots. Can the Dolphins under interim head coach Dan Campbell knock off the reigning Super Bowl Champs? Will Ndamukong Suh stomp on Tom Brady’s junk? These are important questions we need answers. Finally a compelling Thursday Night Football game.
The undefeated Green Bay Packers travel to Denver to take on the unbeaten Broncos and everyone is wondering if this is the game where Peyton Manning’s arm finally costs the team a win. If the Broncos defense can shut down Aaron Rodgers and the Packers offense then they would become one of the scariest teams in the league.
The Steelers will have an AFC North showdown at home to kick off a three-game home stand before their bye week. They’ll be tested against the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals and if they’re going to finish out 9-0 with Ben Roethlisberger back getting a big win against an undefeated divisional foe would be the best way to start it off.
Jack was our Week 7 winner with 10 games picked correctly and he’s now tied with Zack for the overall lead. One of these weeks I’ll get my win, I’m sure of it.
Feel free to join us in making picks of your own in the comments section, or take the opportunity to heckle and criticize our picks if that’s your deal. Make picks of your own or you can root for your favorite Still Curtain staffer!
