Steelers vs. Browns fantasy outlook

Well we were pretty accurate last week with two of our must starts blowing the roof off of the place (Brown and Williams) and Bryant finishing just under ten points with that super slick touchdown.

At first glance this week you should be licking your chops with Steelers players since Cleveland ranks near the bottom of the league on defense as well as offense, hopefully Landry Jones starting doesn’t put a damper on that.

MUSTS: Martavis Bryant, Antonio Brown, Gary Barnidge

Bryant has four touchdowns this season all of which came from Landry Jones passes. This could be a fluke, but I am thinking it’s a trend that continues this week and if I have him I’m starting him for sure. Antonio Brown could be set for a big day as well.

Jones found him for a critical pass near the end of the game that set up the game winning field goal. I have not included DeAngelo Williams here as he has a sore foot and did not practice yesterday. The Steelers do not seem to be saying how serious the injury is but Jordan Todman could be seeing an increased workload regardless.

Gary Barnidge is the number two fantasy tight end this yeah behind Rob Gronkowski and the Steelers give up a lot of catches underneath. Regardless of who the Browns start at quarterback I think Barnidge will be targeted plenty.

MIGHTS: Steelers DST, Josh McCown

The Steelers defense while giving up yards and points can get turn overs and make splash plays. Sure they gave up 35 points to Oakland last week but the week before they gave up only 16 to the Bengals who are a top five offense and Cleveland being a rival I think they step up to the plate this week.

For the most part opposing quarterbacks have done well against Pittsburgh and McCown has had some big games this season. He missed last week with a rib injury and if he his healthy enough to play will start this week. You’re not playing him if you have a solid starter but after what Derek Carr did last week (26 fantasy points) he could be a good option. Hopefully not.

MISSES: Cleveland DST, Heath Miller

Cleveland’s defense is ranked 29th overall in the NFL. Cornerback Joe Haden and safety Donte Whitner are not practicing due to the concussion protocol, if the offensive line can protect Jones he could have a lot of success on Sunday. If that’s the case why would Heath Miller be a miss?

Miller will probably be assigned as more of a blocker as he was during Jones’ last start in Kansas City where he finished with zero catches.
