The Steelers will definitely be enjoying their bye week after a home win over the Browns and having more injuries this season than anyone can keep track of. While the team ices up their bumps and bruises during the bye we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Friday, Nov. 20th.
Let’s make a deal

It’s rare that you get draft news in November but
that the NFL is expected to allow teams to trade compensatory draft picks this year for the first time ever. Teams are awarded compensatory picks for losing free agents and have been previously prohibited from trading them.
Schefter reports that when the NFL owners meet in December they’ll sign off on the trading of compensatory picks which will inevitably lead to more wheeling and dealing leading up to and on draft days.
Work in progress
Steelers rookie linebacker Bud Dupree is having by far the best season of the last three linebackers the Steelers have chosen in the first round of the draft. Teresa Varley spoke to Dupree about what he wants to improve on going forward even though he’s tied with Cameron Heyward for second in sacks on the team with four.
"“I need to continue to improve, make sure I get better each game and help my team win. I want to keep improving in the passing game, in the running game. Honestly, just keep improving in everything.” – Bud Dupree"
That’s a pretty good backup
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was named AFC offensive player of the week for the second time this season but for the first time in his career coming off of the bench as a backup. The PPG’s Ray Fittipaldo reminds us how Roethlisberger was supposed to rest his sprained foot last Sunday against Cleveland but ended up having to enter the game in relief of Landry Jones.
He just went on to throw for 379 yards and three touchdowns in the 30-9 victory. No big deal.
