A lot of players in the NFL can make plays. The great ones are those who can deliver those amazing plays when the game is on the line and all the pressure is on them. Steelers safety Troy Polamalu was one of those great players who could continuously deliver when it was needed the most.

In an early December game against the Baltimore Ravens the Steelers found themselves down 10-6 without the ball and not a lot of time left on the clock. The Steelers anticipated that the Ravens would run down the clock and ice the game but on a second and five from their own 38-yard line, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco dropped back to pass.

Polamalu saw the opportunity and shot in unblocked to Flacco’s blind side, forcing the ball out. Steelers linebacker

LaMarr Woodley

recovered the fumble and took it to the Baltimore 9-yard line. Ben Roethlisberger just needed three plays to get the ball in the end zone with a 9-yard touchdown pass to Issac Redman.

The Steelers won 13-10, which helped seal the AFC North division title for them en route to their Super Bowl XLV appearance all thanks to Troy Polamalu’s play.
