Still Curtain NFL Week 12 Picks

The Still Curtain staff picks winners for each game on the NFL Week 12 schedule.

Tis the season for giving thanks. I’m thankful for football games all day long on Thanksgiving. I’m thankful the NFL “Color Rush” jerseys today won’t be too hideous. I’m also thankful that the Steelers haven’t suffered some awful referee call that has cost them a game this season but, unfortunately, the way it’s going it’s just a matter of time before that hits every team.

Here at Still Curtain we are not only a bunch of nerds who follow the Steelers tirelessly but we are also a bunch of nerds who follow the NFL tirelessly. Therefore we put our money (or maybe just our pride) where our mouths are and make picks on every NFL game on the schedule each week.

We don’t mess around with point spreads or anything like that. Just straight up picks.

Thanksgiving Day is an NFC smorgasbord with the Eagles at Detroit, the 10-0 Panthers at the Cowboys and the Bears at Green Bay. That’s like a Thanksgiving dinner with all turkey and no sides or all sides and no turkey. I guess it depends on how good the games end up being.

The Steelers travel west to take on the 5-5 Seahawks in a game with implications on both sides. The Steelers need to keep pace in the AFC as there seems to be about a hundred or so 5-5 or 4-6 teams vying for a playoff spot. The Seahawks will be without Marshawn Lynch, who will not be all about that action with his abdominal injury.

Even without Lynch the Steelers will have a tough test of their run defense against the top rushing team in the league and although Ben Roethlisberger returned early in Week 10 from his foot injury Steelers fans will still collectively lose their sh*t every time he gets knocked down.

Remy was the Week 11 winner, proving that maybe these games aren’t so hard to predict after all. Of course, he could just be blindly throwing darts at team logos each week to pick his games, who knows? Remy has also taken the overall lead so maybe it’s time for me to look into my selection process a little better.

Dom and Jesse were slackers this week and didn’t get their picks in so it’s Cleveland and Baltimore all around! Good luck guys!
