Steelers vs. Seahawks fantasy outlook

The Steelers travel west to a tough environment to take on the Seattle Seahawks and it’s tough to pick fantasy players in this type of matchup.

What worked two weeks ago definitely will not work this week and Todd Haley needs to be conscious of his plans for Sunday. The Seahawks are aware of Ben’s injuries and they can put the pressure on. Pittsburgh needs to be blitz-ready, using quick plays to move up and down the field.

MUSTS: Martavis Bryant, Thomas Rawls

With Roethlisberger back at the helm I would say Antonio Brown is an every week must-start again. It was trying for Brown owners to witness those poor weeks in Ben’s absence. He is back with almost 100 points (in half point PPR format) over his last four games.

This week I worry it may be tough for the offense to get the pass game really humming. Seattle is the number two defense in the league and you know that they will be piping in all that added crowd noise. That being said it’s a good opportunity for Bryant.

When facing a tough secondary with good corners your best counter is having receiving options and after Brown I wouldn’t want to have anyone over Bryant. On the other side of the ball is running back Thomas Rawls.

Rawls lit it up last week against San Francisco running for over two hundred yards and a touchdown. I think it is unlikely for him to repeat that stat line but he is essentially as effective as Marshawn Lynch, and you would be starting Marshawn Lynch.

MIGHTS: Heath Miller, Russell Wilson

Once again this is obviously a different offense with Roethlisberger in the game and when Ben is in Miller is averaging 7 targets a game. The Seahawks five up a lot of points to opposing tight ends so Miller is a good bet if you need a tight end to start.

Russell Wilson is not having a great year statistically but has thrown for at least a touchdown in every game this season. This Steeler defense I find can be exposed by running QBs and so this may help Wilson’s point total if he can break a few runs and gain points with his legs.

MISSES: DeAngelo Williams, Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett

After two strong showings against Cincinnati and Oakland Williams had a bit of a down game against the Browns last week. This was mainly due to the fact that the Steelers were concentrating on the passing game.

Seattle is tenth against the pass and I just feel like they will be up to stop the run, forcing the Steelers to beat them through the air. Seattle’s passing game is 27th in the NFL and I just would not trust either starting receiver on the Seahawks. One may still break ten points but they would certainly be touchdown dependant.
