Steelers vs. Bengals: Three Grades

1 of 3

The Pittsburgh Steelers rolled to a win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday to keep pace in the wild card race.

This week’s win was different than other recent ones in that the key performances came from players you would not normally expect.

Here are three player grades for Week 14 to illustrate how it went down.

Ben Roethlisberger: C

For much of the afternoon Big Ben was slinging the ball around with relative ease. He led the Steelers on a number of touchdown drives but he wasn’t able to find the end zone himself.

In the end Roethlisberger completed 30 of 39 passes for 282 yards.

Two bad throws (one of which was intercepted, the other one was dropped) stained an otherwise solid game from number seven. The game could have ended differently if the pass at the end of the third quarter had been secured by the Bengals.

For the game Pro Football Focus gave Roethlisberger a mediocre +1.8 rating, which meshes well with our C.
