Steelers vs. Ravens: fantasy outlook

facebooktwitterreddit

It is the final week of Fantasy football and good luck to all players!

This week is the final week of fantasy football and in most cases those who are still lucky enough to be playing, are either playing for the championship or for third place. I play in three leagues and am fortunate enough to be playing for first in one and third in another.

The Steelers offense is rolling and is putting up 30 plus points a game in their last six. Fantasy players with Steelers on their roster are excited.

MUSTS: Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant, Ben Roethlisberger

Roethlisberger missed the first game between these two rivals in September due to injury and Baltimore’s secondary has some problems. Despite being ranked 18th in pass defense the Ravens are giving up a lot of fantasy points to opposing receivers so who better to capitalize then Big Ben and his two leading receivers.

MIGHTS: Kamar Aiken, DeAngelo Williams

Aiken has pretty much been the only bright spot on a Baltimore offense that sits in the middle of the league in regards to yards but is 22nd in scoring. Despite going through three quarterbacks Aiken has been decent this year and has over 27 fantasy points in his last two games.

There isn’t anyone else I trust to play on Baltimore. The Ravens are going to play this game tough so Williams is most probably touchdown dependant or will need four plus catches in a PPR format for owners to have the confidence in starting him. I say he is a flex option this week.

MISSES: Jimmy Clausen, Javorius Allen

Allen started out well replacing the injured Justin Forsett but has not done well recently. The Steelers are top five against the run and in this type of hard hitting rivalry matchup both teams will try to set the down in the trenches and defending the run.

Next: Steelers: Boswell or Suisham?

Clausen, as stated above is the third quarterback starting for the Ravens this year and while he has some talent, in this type of scenario (hated rivalry) the Steelers tend to do very well against less experienced play callers.

KEEPERS: Le’Veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger, Antonio Brown, Martavis Bryant

Those in keeper leagues are keeping these four players.
