While the team gets working on the plays we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Wednesday, Jan. 6th.

Toughen up

Ben Roethlisberger had his Tuesday spot on The Cook and Poni Show on 93.7 The Fan and he talked about receiver Martavis Bryant toughening up. Bryant has had just two catches for six yards in the last two games and the passing game needs to step up if DeAngelo Williams can’t play.

More from Steelers News

"“He needs to understand that, and this is coming from love from me and other guys, that this time of year, you’ve got to toughen up. You’ve got to get tough and you’ve got to make tough plays and you’ve got to make tough catches and you have to find ways to do everything you can to help this team.” – Ben Roethlisberger"

Let’s go all the way

Steelers guard Ramon Foster also joined 93.7 The Fan on the morning show to discuss the upcoming matchup against the Bengals. The last game was pretty heated but Foster explained that the extra stuff goes out the window once the game starts and everything is on the line for each team.

"“The extra stuff means nothing. It helps build the adrenaline, and gets guys going. So, I don’t think much of that will be needed this week. There are a lot of implications. I’m not trying to go home yet. I’m enjoying this ride. I want to take it to San Francisco.” – Ramon Foster"

We might like him

With running back DeAngelo Williams day-to-day recovering from a foot injury sustained in Sunday’s 28-12 win over the Browns Steeler Nation is going to get to know Fitzgerald Toussaint this week as he’ll step into the driver’s seat as far as preparation for the game on Saturday night.

Next: Ben Roethlisberger's interceptions could be costly

Ray Fittipaldo of the PPG has Tomlin’s comments on Toussaint citing that he’s our kind of guy.

"“He’s a talented and hard-working guy. He displays that for us on a day to day basis. Not only when he was called up and active but when he was serving us in the scout team capacity when he was a practice squadder… He brings a no-nonsense approach, blue-collar approach that I’m sure Steelers Nation will appreciate. I’m sure they’ll grow to like him in the manner we do.” – Mike Tomlin"

I don’t know about the rest of you but there’s a different feeling about Toussaint and Jordan Todman going into this Wild Card game as opposed to Ben Tate and Dri Archer of last year.
