Steelers News: Foster, Roethlisberger, Wallace
By Kim Myers
The Steelers are working their way back out on the practice field to prepare for a trip to Denver for the AFC Divisional Playoffs.
While the team takes the practice field we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Wednesday Jan. 13th.
A second spitter

Steelers guard
spoke with
on Tuesday and was asked about
’s allegations that Bengals linebacker
had spit on him. Foster explained that Burfict wasn’t the only Bengal spitting on the field on Saturday night. Gross.
"“He wasn’t the only guy. I will say that he had another culprit out there with him. It’s uncommon. And I think it’s a huge deal. Spitting on somebody is a huge offense. You take that as a sign of major disrespect. I don’t care what venue you’re in – basketball, football, hockey, or you’re at your neighborhood bar – spitting on somebody is unacceptable.” – Ramon Foster"
How’s the shoulder?
Ben Roethlisberger had his usual Tuesday spot on 93.7 The Fan and naturally he discussed his shoulder injury. Roethlisberger was injured in Saturday’s 18-16 win over the Bengals when linebacker Vontaze Burfict sacked him and kneed him in the shoulder.
Roethlisberger exited the game but returned for the final offensive series that led to Chris Boswell’s 35-yard winning field goal. He gave details of his recovery timeline.
"“I’ll go in tomorrow with the intent to see what I can do. I honestly don’t know. I haven’t tried to throw a football since the game, and maybe that’s not even the right thing to do anyway. I’ll see the doctors and trainers tomorrow, we’ll evaluate kind of how I feel. If anything, maybe I can practice and hand off and still get some mental reps that way. So we’ll really just kind of see how it goes tomorrow.” – Ben Roethlisberger"
More beef
If the Steelers and Bengals game wasn’t physical and spiteful (and apparently spit-ful) enough, apparently the Broncos have some beef with at least one Steelers player that they’re looking to settle on Sunday afternoon.
ESPN’s Jeff Legwold says that Broncos safety Darian Stewart has it out for Steelers center Cody Wallace based on a late hit Wallace delivered to safety David Bruton Jr. last month at Heinz Field. Wallace was fined $23,152 for the hit but apparently that’s not enough for Stewart.
The world has all of these flavors and yet people still decide to be salty.
