Steelers season never truly ends for Steeler Nation so while the offseason starts to heat up we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Friday, Apr. 15th.

You should go now

The Steelers finally cut ties with injury-plagued cornerback Cortez Allen on Friday. Allen signed a $24 million contract with the team in 2014 and then proceeded to either suck donkey balls or barely play with some phantom knee injury that he never got surgery for.

The interesting part of the cut is that the team didn’t designate Allen a post-June 1st cut, meaning they only saved a little over a million on the salary cap with the cut rather than $4.4 million if he was to be off of the books after June 1st. Guess they just wanted a clean break.

Prediction time

Now that the schedule is released we can start to predict on what the Steelers’ record will be for the 2016 season. Total homers have already penciled them in at 16-0 and the truth is, I probably wouldn’t pick against the Steelers for any of these games on the schedule either.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, on the other hand, went farther than that and predicts the Steelers go 11-5 in 2016. He predicted their losses come at the hands of the Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Bills and Bengals. Quite possibly the most unbelievable one is that the Bengals beat the Steelers in their prime-time meeting in Week 15. We’ll see about that.

Color Rush

The Steelers will not be immune to the NFL and Nike Color Rush concept they forced down our throats last season. Mike Florio of PFT explains that Steelers president Art Rooney II already has a plan in place for the Color Rush game the Steelers will play in Indianapolis on Thanksgiving night.

Next: Steelers release Cortez Allen

Assuming the Colts will go with white as their predominant color the Steelers will be in all black. Sounds good to me.
