Steelers season never truly ends for Steeler Nation so while the team starts to put in the work to prepare for the 2016 NFL season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Monday, May 23rd.

Back at it

The Steelers open OTAs on Tuesday and with that they’ll welcome back All-Pro center Maurkice Pouncey. Pouncey missed the entire 2015 season while on the team’s Reserve/Injured; Designated for Return List.

One of the questions facing the 2016 Steelers team, according to Mike Prisuta, is if Pouncey can return to his All-Pro form after his injury.

We beg to differ

Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams took some issue for he and Le’Veon Bell along with the rest of Pittsburgh’s backfield being ranked sixth overall in the league in a Bleacher Report ranking of running back corps prior to the start of the season.

The ranking had the New York Jets backfield with Matt Forte, Bilal Powell, Khiry Robinson and Zac Stacy ranked No. 1 overall and the Cowboys with Ezekiel Elliot, Darren McFadden, Alfred Morris and Lance Dunbar number two. Odd for the Cowboys to be ranked so high with an unproven backfield but hey, different strokes.

No Super Bowl for Pittsburgh

Curt Popejoy of USA Today’s Steelers Wire informs us that the NFL owners will meet on Monday for their annual spring meeting and one of the items to discuss will be voting on the host cities for the three upcoming Super Bowls.

Next: Who will be the Steelers No. 2 receiver?

Unfortunately for Pittsburgh, they’re not in the running. Super Bowls LIII, LIV and LV are going to be voted on and the five teams in the running are Los Angeles, Atlanta, Miami, New Orleans and Tampa Bay. You know Los Angeles is getting one of them. Maybe next time for Pittsburgh. The earliest they could be considered would be 2023 for Super Bowl LVII.
