The Steelers draft picks have been made and the offseason workout program is in full swing.
Steelers season never truly ends for Steeler Nation so while the team starts to put in the work to prepare for the 2016 NFL season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Friday, June 3rd.
Looking for big things
Steelers linebacker Ryan Shazier is expecting some big things out of himself and the rest of the defense this season. He’s shown flashes of greatness but had a sophomore season hampered by injury but he’s also shown that he’s the example of the speed-centric direction this defense is headed in.

Shazier spoke after OTAs on Thursday about his expectations for this season for himself and the team. When asked about his personal goals for the season he replies that his goal is to help the team win a Super Bowl. I like those goals. Those are good goals. Big changes for Big Dan
Daniel McCullers is a hard to miss kind of guy. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler remarks on how McCullers is wide line an IMAX movie screen. Perhaps Fowler will be noticing less of McCullers this year as he’s apparently dropped a few pounds, gotten shoulder surgery and contact lenses.
If he’s going to take the role left vacant by Casey Hampton as the quintessential nose tackle, he can’t be losing too much weight but it would definitely help him if he didn’t have a sore shoulder and can see. He’ll need to see running backs to stop in their tracks or the menu at the Five Guys in Latrobe.
Savagery
The Steelers and Bengals rivalry hit peak level last season which was good because with the Ravens sucking so badly someone needed to step up and offer some entertainment. Steelers linebacker Vince Williams isn’t about to let that rivalry die down any time soon, apparently.
Deadspin captured Williams’ tweet in regards to the gorilla that was shot and killed over the weekend in the Cincinnati zoo when a child fell into the enclosure.
Perhaps you’ve noticed that everyone in your social feed has become a childcare expert and/or zoologist in the last few days so they can weigh in on the zoo’s decision to kill the gorilla.

Williams gave his opinion and didn’t hold back. The now deleted tweet references the gorilla being from Cincinnati.
"“The Gorilla was from Cincinnati. I didn’t drop one tear. He in a better place now.” – Vince Williams"
Brutal. True, but brutal.
