The Steelers are all checked in and accounted for at Saint Vincent College and 2016 training camp is officially underway for the 51st year in Latrobe.
While the Steelers get the pads on and get preparations started on the 2016 regular season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Sunday, July 31st.
Stealing the show
The Steelers finally made it out to the practice field on Saturday after an hour rain delay and receiver Sammie Coates caught most of the passes and the attention, according to Mike Prisuta. Prisuta explained that Coates showed himself special in a drill called “Special Cat,” short for special category.
The drill is third down attempts to convert and defend and Coates made impressive grabs delivered by Landry Jones, Bruce Gradkowski and Ben Roethlisberger.

Cartoons and zombies
Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams is pretty entertaining. I have to admit that I am a fan. I celebrate the guy’s entire catalogue. One minute he’s debuting his SportsCenter cartoon where he tells the story of his first training camp experience going up against Chris Jenkins when he was with the Carolina Panthers.
Next: Steelers training camp with Rocky Bleier
The other minute he’s showing his zombie-themed wedding he had recently in his hometown of Memphis. ESPN came down and did a special on Williams’ The Walking Dead nuptials. So Williams likes trash talking and The Walking Dead. I feel like we need to be best friends.
