The Steelers head into their final week of the preseason to face the Carolina Panthers in their annual matchup.

While the team prepares for roster cuts and for the start of the regular season we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Wednesday, Aug. 31st.
Tomlin Tuesday
Steelers coach Mike Tomlin addressed the media on Tuesday to preview the upcoming preseason finale against the Carolina Panthers. As is the usual custom the Steelers will sit the majority of their starters for the final preseason game to rest the stars and showcase the youngsters.
Players like Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, DeAngelo Williams, Markus Wheaton, Antonio Brown, Cam Heyward, Stephon Tuitt, James Harrison, Jarvis Jones, Ryan Shazier, Lawrence Timmons, Mike Mitchell and William Gay will all be sidelined along with the majority of the offensive line.
Think of the final preseason game as more of a joint practice for the rank and file players rather than an actual game. Seems like robbery to charge admission to it though.
We’ll put a happy interception over here
Going into the start of the 2016 regular season Ross Cockrell is a starting cornerback for the Steelers defense. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler explains that Cockrell had long cemented his role as the starter but has excelled in practice lately, grabbing interceptions from the first team offense.
Ideally, Cockrell starts the season on the outside with William Gay and Gay can be moved to the slot when and if Artie Burns can progress into a starter. If Senquez Golson can come back healthy in mid-November this secondary could be dangerous.
Don’t you dare cross that Moats
Linebacker Arthur Moats is a happy guy. He makes everyone around him happy as well. He does that by being charitable, friendly, a great linebacker and providing his team with t-shirts.
