The Steelers certainly feasted on the Chiefs last week and here’s hoping they’re still hungry this Sunday.

With the Jets coming to town there’s a lot to think about in terms of food choices. When you think of New York food you can really go for it. Without being able to narrow it down and already having something pizza-related in mind for when we play the Giants I went in a different direction.

The Jets are referred to as “Gang Green” which, if you ask me is one of the worst nicknames a team can have. Who wants to be named after decaying flesh? Gross. Although decaying flesh is a good description for how Ryan Fitzpatrick has been playing so far this season.

Instead of decaying flesh you should make spinach dip. It’s green and much tastier. But if you’re tailgating you can’t be bothered to pass around a bowl of dip to everyone. What’s the solution? Spinach dip hand pies. Everything you love in the spinach and artichoke dip in handheld form.

They’re both a nod to the Jets “Gang Green” and to Fitzpatrick because they’re basically greens-filled turnovers. Only tastier because there is cheese involved. Think of the convenience of not having to worry about double-dipping!

Everything is better with cheese. Everything is also better served individually and hand-held. You can bake these bad boys up and pass them around at your tailgate or serve them to your guests at home. A nice beverage in one hand and a spinach dip hand pie in the other. God bless America.

Enjoy the game and the grub! Here we go Steelers! Here we go!
