While the team recovers from their injuries and gets some much-needed rest we’ll be busy looking for mentions of your Black & Gold so we’ve got you covered. Here’s your Steelers Morning Huddle for Wednesday, Oct. 26th.

Fingers crossed

Things are looking up for the men in Black & Gold for their return from the bye and they haven’t technically left yet. Ben Roethlisberger joined 93.7 The Fan for his typical Tuesday spot after attending practice.

Roethlisberger sounded pretty optimistic about his chances to return for the Ravens game on Nov. 6th.

"“I’m always going to be hopeful and do everything I can…to make sure that I get myself as prepared as I can to be able to go out there. Obviously, it’s AFC North football, so I want to do everything I can to be out there with my guys.” – Ben Roethlisberger"

Hey there, I know you!

Ladarius Green suited up and practiced on Tuesday for the first time as a Pittsburgh Steeler. Teresa Varley describes the smile on his face after putting in a hard day’s work since signing as an unrestricted free agent this offseason.

Since he is on the PUP list there is a 21-day window to activate him that goes into effect starting Tuesday. There’s plenty of work left to be done with him but he could add an element to this offense that can turn these latest flops upside down.

Garbage

Ryan Shazier made his return to the field in the 27-16 loss to the Patriots but he sure wasn’t quiet about where he thinks the defensive unit is at after allowing over 300 rushing yards the last two weeks. LeGarrette Blount gashed the team for 127 yards a week after Dolphins RB Jay Ajayi ran for 204.

Ray Fittipaldo of the PPG has Shazier’s feelings about how the defense looks at this juncture.

"“He’s a big guy, he’s a good runner, but we didn’t get blocks. We didn’t make tackles. Everyone is responsible. We have to hold each other accountable. We have to make sure we can bet the defense we can be. Right now, we’re looking like garbage. This is terrible right now.” – Ryan Shazier"

Tell us how you really fell. I have to believe that missing a guy like Cameron Heyward has a lot to do with it but still, he’s pretty right with his assessment.
