Pittsburgh Steelers Draft Watch: Air Force WR Jalen Robinette
By Logan Bryson
Team Fit
Worried about Martavis Bryant’s future in Pittsburgh? Why not target a WR with similar strengths in the draft. Robinette has all the skills Pittsburgh is looking for in terms of a deep threat. Even if he will have to learn to run the entire route tree, Robinette could make an impact early on as a pure situational deep threat.
Regardless of who fills the void, Pittsburgh desperately lacked a true downfield target late in the season. Sammie Coates looked like Ben’s go-to deep target early in the year, but his play quickly faded as injuries racked up and his drop issues flared up. I think all of Steeler Nation can agree that Pittsburgh’s offense operates at a whole different level when they can stretch the field.

In conclusion, I think it would be a wise investment for Pittsburgh to take a flier on Robinette if he is still available early Day 3. While I have an Early Day 2 grade on Robinette based on his upside, most members of the media I have seen have him in that Day 3 range. I think that would be too good of value for Pittsburgh to pass up for a WR who perfectly fits within their scheme.
