With 8 scheduled picks in the upcoming NFL draft, the Pittsburgh Steelers will look to fill their needs for 2017 and beyond. The strategy will be much like the last few years as they find themselves needing similar positions addressed.

The NFL Draft is just 28 days away. Following free agency, the Steelers draft strategy is beginning to come into crystal clear focus.

Steelers brass has stated that free agency signings will not impact the Steelers draft plans. This means that though they signed a corner, defensive lineman, receiver and running back, they will not shy from them being targets come April.

It is easy for fans to say the team does not need a certain position or it needs one above the other without really looking into the team and its roster.

Fans may say the team has a certain amount of players and does not need another. This is overlooking the quality is greater than quantity perspective.

Sometimes needs are deeper than the quantity of players you have on your roster. Teams may have stars at certain starting positions but not much depth behind them. This is where that position becomes a need.
