3. How real is Bud Dupree?

After training with former NFL pass rusher, Chuck Smith, Bud Dupree has one thing on his mind this season – Defensive Player of the Year.

It may be a stretch after two none impressive seasons, but if Dupree actually has made significant progress this offseason, he’ll be one of the most dangerous edge rushers in the NFL.

Combine his speed, athleticism, and hopefully, new found technique and you have a player who can be one of the best linebackers the league has to offer. Put him in a core with James Harrison, Ryan Shazier and T.J. Watt, and he can turn this Pittsburgh defense into the scariest front seven there is.

Dupree has a lot to prove this season. Not that the Steelers are giving up on him or he’s on his way out, but for the expectations Pittsburgh had for him coming into the league, Dupree has a lot to live up to.

In 2017, with all the changes and work being put into the team and himself, there really is a strong possibility he becomes one of the best players on this team.
