Is Le’Veon Bell becoming a forgotten aspect of this team

Le’Veon Bell is arguably the best running back in football. That doesn’t help his case, though, as the Steelers already tried to pay him more than any other running back in the NFL, by nearly $4 million.

Bell wants to be paid by the Steelers as a running back one and wide receiver two, but with the return of Martavis Bryant and the addition of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Bell won’t even be a top three receiver for the Steelers this season.

So, while he continues to miss camp, James Conner continues to impress. The only issue is that Conner is impressing too much too soon.

Fans, coaches, and players love this guy. He’s a hometown hero and has a bright future ahead of him in the NFL. Yes, he was drafted to be Bell’s backup, but right now, he’s playing first team reps and showing his potential on each one.

Conner isn’t going to get the job this season unless something happens to Bell. This could very well be his tryout for the Steelers to start considering life after Bell, though. As much as everyone would hate to see the Pro Bowler leave, if Conner continues to play well, it’ll be hard saying they’ll pay Bell such ridiculous money with another star on the bench.

Pittsburgh looks good with No. 30 on the field. If he can bounce back from the shoulder injury, he’s looking at a long and successful training camp. Which may be a roadblock for Bell’s future with the Steelers.
