The Pittsburgh Steelers have released their first depth chart for the 2017 preseason.

For the most part, everyone knew how the depth chart would look for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2017. But, with competition battles like slot receiver, nickelback, and backup quarterback, there were still some unknowns heading into the first preseason game.

It appears that only some of these positions will be known for right now. The wide receiver battle still seems to be up for grabs, with Darrius Heyward-Bey and Antonio Brown getting the start. Eli Rogers will play the slot, and JuJu Smith-Schuster is listed as the third string.

Fitzgerald Toussant will start at running back, with James Conner not listed on the depth chart. Which, with Le’Veon Bell still not at training camp, and Conner dealing with a shoulder injury, comes as no surprise. However, this could be a good opportunity for Toussant to earn his place in the 53-man roster.

The rest of the team’s depth chart looks like so:

With their first preseason game only days away, the Steelers will get last minute practices in with these groups. As the take on the New York Giants on August 11, head coach Mike Tomlin will be adjusting and removing players from this depth chart.
